Dow-Key
Paul Dow
è stato un valente telegrafista della Western Union, per loro aveva testato il Vibroplex modello Original di Horace G. Martin prima essere inserito come dotazione nella Società.
Paul Dow arrivato all'età della sua pensione, si ritirò a Winnipeng Canada, e sotto il suo "garage" inizio a produrre i suoi tasti come attività principale. Questo avvio avvenne in coincidenza con il termine dei primi brevetti Vibroplex.
Paul Dow ha prodotto diversi modelli di tasti, i primi senza numerazione ed etichetta, poi man mano si aggiungono etichette di plastica, poi metalliche con numeri seriali ecc.
Tra questi tasti ve ne sono alcuni molto rari come il "Bent bug" di cui se ne conoscono solo 19 esemplari prodotti, di cui la metà sono in possesso della famiglia Dow come ricordo.
Il "Bent" è stato uno dei primi esperimenti di Dow nel facilitare l'operatore durante la trasmissione, il primo costruttori di tasti a prendere in seria considerazione il concetto di ergonomia.

L'inclinazione di 30° dell'asse del bent-bug rientra in una prima serie di esperimenti che Paul curò nel corso del tempo, sino a sfociare nella sua massima espressione, il modello Universal.
Molti modelli si ispirano alla produzione Vibroplex, anche se con numerose variabili e piccole migliorie sono stati introdotti nel suo perenne percorso verso la ricerca e il miglioramento delle sue creazioni.

La produzione Dow è stata molto articolata nel tempo ed è quindi in corso una ricerca di dati per poter meglio conoscere l'esatta produzione.

Paul Dow is a talented telegraph of Western Union telegraph Co.,
for them he tested the Vibroplex Original key model, product
by Horace G. Martin. This test is to adopt in the Company the Vibroplex key.
Paul Dow reached the age of his retirement, he retired to Winnipeng
city in the Manitoba State - Canada, and under your's "garage" start to produce of Dow keys. This period coincide with the end of the first Vibroplex
patents.
Paul Dow has produced several model of keys, the early type without
serial number or label, then as he add platisc adesive label, and then metal plate with serial numbers and so on.
Among these keys there are some very rare as the "Bent
bugs" that are known only 19 units produced, half of this are in the hands of Dow's family in the memory of Paul.
The "Bent" was one of the first experiments that Dow have create, to
facilitate the operator during transmission, the first semiauotmatics key manufacturers in
serious consideration to the ergonomics concept.

The inclination of 30 ° of the axis of the

mechanically very similar to Vibroplex production, but Paul introduce in his bug a lot of variables, in any case also a
small improvements, in te constant research of improvement in her production.
